Eine gute Seite, da ich mich auch mit Ahnenforschung beschäftige,
weiß ich, wie schwierig die Suche nach Informationen ist. Alles Gute
wünscht Euch Torsten

I have found a few entries that have been helpful in my quest to
further complete my family tree. It has been very difficult to get started
with contacting necessary people in Europe (Germany). I wish I spoke German
myself, but I will rely on others to help until I can familiarize myself
with the German language. I have recently learned that a family member
of mine somewhere in Germany has information dating back to the 1300's,
and I am hoping they will share what they know.

I'm looking for information about Henry Dohse, who emigrated from
Mecklenburg in 1854. He was born in 1832 in Mecklenburg and married Elizabeth
Bergholtz. They are my great-grandparents, and several of us in the states
are looking for more information on their origins. Thanks for any leads
you may have. Clara Dohse Smith

Searching information on GEORGE J SCHNORR and his brothers PHILLIP
SCHNORR and WILLIAM. There were sisters too when they immigrated to Wisconsin
around 1882-1890. The family was orphaned and placed in a Catholic orphanage
in Wis. The two girls became nuns and the boys later went to Two Rivers/Manitowoc
and Sheboygan to live. Maybe some brothers went elsewhere (I am not certain
how many children were in the family). Phillip and George were born in
London, England but the father PHILLIP SCHNORR SR was born in Hessen-Darmstadt
Germany. Birth dates for George and Phillip Jr. are 1868 and 1864.(They
must have been in England for 5 or 6 years before immigrating to the US)
I think the mother died in England. The Catholic Diocese in Brown County,Wis
was unable to find a clue about the sisters and the orphanage. There are
several Frederick Schnorrs in the family. Two are my cousin in Sheboygan,
Wis.and his father (dcsd) (George's son.) Another Frederick was George's
brother and another Frederick was a son to George's brother Frederick.
One of them became a drugstore owner in Athens, Wis. Another owned a Hardware
Store in Kohler. Any information would be appreciated.
