For Information; My great Grandfather, Hermann Karl Ludwig Friedrich
Krüger married Alvina Marie Krohn 19/10/1871 in Kentz, Pommern, Germany.
My Grandfather was the youngest of 15 children the latter children being
born in USA.The Krüger's were from Marlow, Mecklenburg according to
birth records of my great grandfather born 1/11/1843. So I would assume
that Alvina Krohn was from Pommern. I don't know if you have any information
on her family. I have only recently began searching my family roots as
I have a pride that my entire family background is rooted in Germany with
my mothers side coming from the Sachsen area. I have posted my gedcom files

Hello, I enjoyed your web-page both in english and german! I am
looking for the Birth-record of ALLARS (ALEX) BROTZEN who married and lived
in Schwerin, Mecklenburg and may have died about 1906. He was most likely
born in Hinter-Pommern about 1847 give or take. Where? is unknown, as is
his parentage? However our entire known family originated from the Village
of BROTZEN and around the general area from Deutsch-Krone to Koeslin to
Wangerin etc. I am also interested in the origin of the Village of BROTZEN
prior to 1750? Your kind reply may be in either language at your convenience.
Thank you for your kind attention. Mit freundlichem Gruss Jack L. Brotzen

Grötche. Jedenfalls, erwar in 1657 geboren, fuhr in jungen Alter nach

Er starb in 1704 in einem Kampf bei Hochstadt. Er war auch ganz kurz in

father. His name was Henry Herman Rhode/Rohde and was killed in the Franco-Prussian
war and at the present I can only assume that he was from Prussia. I have
been told that he was from near Hanover Germany but this is not substansiated
as yet. My Grandfather Henry Herman Rhode was born Januar 11 1860. Mother's
name was Sophia Wolfe/Wolf who married Hienrick Hoffmier after the death
of her husband. They came to the us in 1871 and settled in Hanover, Iowa.
Sorry, I can't give you any more information than that, as I am stalled
at this point. Vielen Dank for anything you can supply. Bill Rhode

My great great grandparents, Carl "Fritz" (Frederick) RIEMER or
REAMER (B 1840) and Carolina Wilhemina GERHARDT RIEMER (b 1844) came to
the U.S. in June 1872. They were married in April of 1872. I have copies
of two old documents received from them. They are from the Evangelical
Lutheran Church Parish of Belitz in Mecklenburg Schwerin and one is signed
by Friedrich Gubener, Pastor, and dated 19 October 1884. The names Christiana
KARANTZ daughter of Weaver of Little (Klein) Butzin, Johann Karl Friedrich
KARANTZ and his wife Marie Luise(maiden name SCHMIDT) are mentioned. Also
the apparent christening date of Christiana of 28th August 1840 is mentioned.
The other document comes from a church in Saal (now in West Germany) and
speaks of a Heinrich GERHARDT of Neuendorf Haid and contains the name "Marie
(born BURMEISTER) now RIEMER and the date of 4 March 1870 is mentioned.
It is signed by the minister with the date of April 1872. That was the
month my great great grandparents were married. Could this Heinrich and
Marie be witnesses to their marriage? I have been trying for years to locate
the parents and siblings of Carl and Carolina. As late as 1950 they still
had relatives in Germany who corresponded with family in the U.S. The relatives
names were WACHSMUTH (Margot). I know this is probably not a lot for you
to go on, but if you can at least give me suggestions on where else to
search, I would be most appreciative. I know they were from somewhere in
Mecklenburg Schwerin. A relative also said they could have been from an
area called Barth, though I did not find that name on these documents.
Thanks so much for your time and consideration. Sharon

Sophia Uecker were married on 27/2/1840, perhaps they could be his parents.

Always looking for more info about the Arndt (Ahrendt, Ahrndt, Arendt,
Ahrend) family from Krusemarkshagen, Kreis Demmin, M-V. Have some info
about my gggrandparents Christian Friedrich August Ahrndt and Lucia Friderica
Christine (nee Willert). Want to find: Christian Friedrich August's father
and grandfather Carl Heinrich Friedrich Ahrndt, the oldest son, whom I
believe remained in Prussia (probably Krusemarkshagen) when the parents
and all other living children came to USA (on the "Donau", Hamburg 1 Nov
1854 to New York 19 Dec 1854). The church records are in Hohenbollentin,
and I was lucky enough to spend a week in the area last October. Ran out
of time, though, and did not find the above. Nice to have this site!

Hello my new friends! I just became a new user of Family Tree Online
and found this a very interesting web site. I found a VERY definite match,
but just can't find out who and when it was sent! I had checked Emanuel
Schild, my great-great-great grandfather, from Moetzelfitz, and found someone
who was looking for his descendants. Well, I am definitely one, and I know
of HUNDREDS more! If you are from Germany and are related to Emanuel, I
can only tell you that we've been looking for you!!! Please answer this
e-mail and I'll only begin to introduce you to all the family that Emanuel's
descendants have in the U.S.A. Dawn_Roper@hotmail.com

Hello! I am interested in any more information I can find out about
my ancestors from Pommern. I realize that most of the dates I have are
too late for Karin to look up, but I am hoping that someone else will recognize
these folks. VOLKMANN: Carl (Charles) and Heinrich, b. in the 1830s. Unsubstantiated
rumors are that their father's name was Michael. Carl and Heinrich, along
with their mother, whose name I don't know because her obit simply said
"Mrs. Volkmann" emmigrated in the late 1850s to Wisconsin. QUIRAM/STEINKE:
These families lived in and near Schoenlanke. The oldest members of this
family I have are August Michael Quiram and his wife Wilhelmina Ernestina
Steinke. They emigrated in the late 1880s (1889) to LeSeuer Co, MN, where
many of their relatives had previously settled. ISTA: This family was orignally
from Belgium, arriving in Pommern sometime prior to 1818. Three brothers:
Georg, Johann, and Jochim (Jacob) emigrated to the US in 1857. Georg's
wife's name was Dorothea STARR or STOEHR. Thanks to anyone who can help!

Peter Schroeder married Gesche Martens in 1833 in Edewecht which
was part of Oldenburg at that time, I believe. Their daughter, Johanna
Maria Fredericka Schroeder was my gggrandmother. On Johanna"s marriage
certificate she states she emigrated from Altona, Holstein. I am confused.
I now know that Altona was absorbed by Hamburg, but it seems a long distance
from Oldenburg. Did emigrants at that time travel to and live for periods
of time in a port city before leaving for the USA or elsewhere? Where would
I send for records of emigration from Germany? Thank you for any ideas

Hi Karin, I have been sorking on our family for a while, but haven't
used this method to find anything. I thought this looked like a good way
to get a chance for a step further in the direction I want to go. I want
to thank you in advance for any help you can give me. I have most of my
family from 1866. The family came from Grube, Holstein, Germany. One of
my grandfathers brothers who remained in germany we have very little on,
His name was Carl David Theodor Kroger born may 1 1864, died 1914. Married
Johanna Sager. Chiuldren unknown. None of the family still living there,
have never heard of him. The information I have is from a large file kept
by my aunt, now deceased. I also would like to know more about my G.Grandfather
on back. G.Grandfather was Claus Henrich "Henry" Friedrich Kroger. I only
have a estamated year of birth, but the date I have for marriage, and death
should be right just don't have anything more than a year.Born 1841 marriage
1863 death 1890 in Grube, Holstein. Claus Henrich married Elsube Auguste
Fredrika Schwartz born 1841, died 1917 also in Grube, Holstein. Claus Henrich's
father was Johann Kroger, would like any information that you might run
accross on him because that is all that I have. I do know that Claus may
have come from a family of 6 children. A Brother named Theodor came to
America and brought over 4 nephews. There was a news paper clipping that
stated Theodor was from Guttau Holstein, Germany. There was a letter in
my Aunts files that state that the family had been established in Grube
since 1813. I am sure this is more than enough for one time. Again I want
to thank you for any help you can give. It will be tremendously appreciated.

LINKE; Bertha SCHLINKE (maybe SCHLENKE) and Carl H. BRAMMER. Lived in
the Schleswig-Holstein, but I don't know the exact town. I have been told
that the SCHLINKE's were wealthy and owned a large farm. They lost everything
during World War 2. I have also been told that one of the SCHLINKE'S was
possibly Mayor of the town they lived in. Any help would be tremendously
appreciated.

My grandfather, William (Wilhelm) Last, was born in Pomerania on
January 13, 1875. He emigrated to the United States around 1892. He had
brothers still living in Germany during World War II. His father, who was
killed in a hunting accident when my grandfather was young, had been one
of the Kaiser's personal guards. I am searching for the village in which
my grandfather was born and also for any relatives I might have in Germany.
We last heard from them right after WW II. My grandfather had died by then.
Since they were in the Russian Zone we did not hear from them again. I
will be touring Germany (Berlin area) in July and would like to visit the
village where my grandfather was born, if possible, and also meet my relatives,
if any. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Fantastic website, Karin. I seem to be stumbling through archive
files & finding little information on my maiden ancestry. I hope you
can help me out a bit. My great-grandfather (George Gottlieb Schroeder)
immigrated from Hamburg Germany June 10, 1883 & arrived here in New
York on June 21, 1883. On the information (Petition for Naturalization
& Declaration of Intention) I have, he was born June 1, 1865 in Schackstedt.
He also changed the spelling of our last name to Schrader because the Americans
couldn't spell or pronounce it properly. I have been told that he had siblings
that followed him to the US & settled in Wisconsin along with him before
he moved to our current location of Muncie, Indiana, USA. Can you help
me find out more information about our ancestors & their locations
or guide me as to where I can begin my quest again? Thank you ever so much;

Traced my family history back through the 1600's via my grandfather
who came to US in 1899 with his father, mother etc. I am curious to know
how many Mecklenburgs in US and are lineages the same? Discovered that
history was probably due to an illetimate birth in the 17-1800's. Do you
find many of these? Great grand father was born and raised on the grounds
of the palace - is this common for illegitemate lines bearing the same
name as the nobility to live within the walls (so to speak?)

A lot of work you have done! I was searching more about a noble
family in Hinterpommern, lantrad George Palbitski and his wife Anna Hoppe.
Their son, Mathias Palbitzki (23 dec 1623 - 20 oct 1677) got into service
in Sweden and became a very famous diplomat, art agent and close friend
to queen Kristina and her successor king Carl X Gustaf. He became the founder
of an dynasty that owned Julita Estage for about 200 years. He married
Anna Regina Khevenhüller, daughter of Paul Khevenhüller (who
got into Swedish services in 1632) the governor of Wollin 1648 - he get
Julita by Gustaf II Adolf. (-I have a lot of data about Mathias P and P
Khevenhüller if anyone is interested - just mail me). On a map over
Hinterpommern 1628 I also found the signature of it to be Frid. Palbitzke.
A relative to George? Brother? I have published a little about these persons
on my homepage - soon it will be updated with a lot of new material. I
guess there were a lot of "emigrants" from Pommern to Sweden during the
wars in the 17th century.

Tolle Homepage! Ich suche nach Vorfahrnen aus GRÜNEWALD, Kr.
Neustettin/Pommern.
